In November, Element Skateboards announced a collaboration with The Imaginary Foundation, a Think Tank based out of Switzerland. The Imaginary Foundation is dedicated to “experimental research on new ways of thinking and the power of the imagination.” The small team is led by a mysterious 70 year old intellectual whose father founded the Dadaist movement and is known simply as “The Director.” The Foundation's philosophy is rooted in the belief in human potential, and they “seek progress in all directions.” Since The Imaginary Foundation has chosen to avoid direct publicity, they've used street wear as a way to bring their ideas out of the theoretical, academic realm and into pop culture... which is why their collaboration with Element makes sense. A Swiss think tank and an American Skate company may be an unlikely pair, but if their gorgeous boards are any indication they are in for a long partnership.
